The most obvious advantage to belonging to a Clan is that you can request troops (once every 20 minutes) from your fellow members to help defend your village when you're offline (and donate your own to help other members in return, of course).

Joining a more experienced Clan means you'll most likely receive upgraded troops to assist you, which can be a major benefit when you're still starting out.

But there are other benefits, too. You can exchange information and tactics with other members, get rewarded with XP every time you donate troops - further boosting your overall CoC level (and unlocking 'Friend in Need' Achievements), and generally contribute to improve your Clan's standing in the CoC world, giving you that sense of belonging that only a mother can provide.

It's nice to belong.
