Two new Chocobo games are unveiled for DS

Only yesterday famed RPG publisher Square Enix revealed its E3 line-up of games, which included plenty for the handhelds. Now it emerges it has two more games in the works for DS.

As reported today by CVG, two Chocobo Final Fantasy games are on their way. The first is Chocobo and the Magic Storybook: The Witch and the Girl and the Five Valiant Men (we'll forgive you for not being able to remember that title without putting in a few hours revision) and the second is Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon: The Labyrinth of Forgotten Time DS Plus.

The former will be an adventure title while the latter is the DS version of the Wii game Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon due to be released later this year.

No further gameplay details have been revealed but Chocobo and the Magic Storybook is scheduled for a winter release in Japan and Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon for autumn. You can attempt to find out more via the official Japanese Chocobo web portal.

Unsurprisingly though neither game has been been confirmed for European release, and given Square Enix's track record, we're certainly not holding our breath.
