Handheld micro-emulator plays GBA, SNES and Mega Drive games

Probably not legally, but the idea’s nice

Wholesale Chinese electronics store Chinavasion has added an intriguing little device to its roster that closely resembles the GBA micro.

Dubbed the Delightfully Small - or DS, for short - this miniature, multi-platform, multimedia device features a 2.8” display, accepts mini-SD cards and plays ROMs for a variety of retro systems.

These systems include NES, SNES, Mega Drive, GBA, Neo Geo and the Capcom arcade systems CPS1 and CPS2. It’ll also play most digital audio and video formats, and even has an A/V output.

Packing an FM radio, voice recorder, image viewer and ebook reader into this 125mm x 56mm device is pretty impressive stuff, especially when it only weighs in at around £70.

Naturally it raises all the questions about the legality of using those ROMs, blah blah blah, but it’s hard not to be impressed. Check it out.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
