Championship Manager 2007 heads for mobile

Back for another season, and better than ever

Championship Manager 2007 heads for mobile

Sometimes we get caught out by a mobile game appearing on operator portals without warning. Such is the case with Championship Manager 2007, which suddenly popped up on Planet 3 last week.

Still, with the real-world football season storming to a climax, what better time to get stuck into a mobile simulation?

Publisher Eidos and developer Dynamo Games have ensured there's a host of new features in the game too, to make it worth buying even if you bought the last one.

There are eight new player skills, for example, including passing, shooting and handling. The game has more teams and players from other European countries, as well as from the lower English leagues – sadly, this probably doesn't mean the mighty Bishops Stortford FC are included, but we can dream.

The tactics have been beefed up, and you've been given more control over training schedules. Media plays more of a role in the game now, too, with pre and post-match press conferences.

However, the most exciting thing about Championship Manager 2007 is its connectivity, which Eidos says will let you download updates, and additional leagues and competitions. It's a first for this genre on mobile, and is certainly welcome.
