Indie developer ][ has unveiled its first game for iPhone, a clever puzzle game called Chain3.

And yes, that really is the company's name, although it also uses the moniker RSBLSB, which stands for 'Right Square Bracket Left Square Bracket'. It is to mobile gaming what !!! is to music. In a sense.

Anyway, Chain3 is on the surface a standard match-three puzzler, where you have to swap coloured pieces around to make matches of three or more.

However, rather than being restricted to swapping pieces that are next to each other, you can move them anywhere, with the emphasis thus on nailing combos.

There'll also be a "dynamically generated soundscape", two modes, and online high-score tables. The latter is significant, as it makes Chain3 one of the first iPhone games to have confirmed online features.

The game is due out next month, at the launch of the iTunes App Store. It'll run on iPhone and iPod touch.
