Universomo's new mobile gaming technology could change the way you play

THQ Wireless has announced that its recently-acquired Universomo subsidiary has developed a new mobile gaming technology called Cell Weaver. It won't find its way into actual games until Spring next year, but it sounds interesting.

It's a bit complicated to explain, but basically Cell Weaver is about letting gamers form 'sequence patterns' using their mobile keypad. Or, as Universomo puts it:

"This application is perfect for combat games from battles and duels, to complex martial arts moves where the player has to defend and strike back by doing counter moves. Other gameplay uses include a hero's superpowers or in role-playing games when casting spells. Cell Weaver can also be applied to music, dance or rhythm based games."

We have to admit, we don't quite understand. But we're certainly intrigued, and will be asking Universomo and THQ what it's all about as soon as possible. For now, click 'Track It!' to get an alert when we find out more.
