Mobilised: with new online multiplayer modes

Activision reloads Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for DS

Even though Call of Duty is the biggest cross-platform shooter series, it's still something of a surprise to see Activision rolling out a new DS version this November.

Not that we're complaining mind.

2007's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was an excellent DS game, and with n-Space again in command of development duties, we have few doubts about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilised.

As before, the game will feature plenty of tricky situations and weaponry. These will include vehicles such as main battle tanks to spy drones, and AC-130 Spectre gunships.

Other missions will see you hacking into enemy terminals and performing urban street fighting, as you're deployed across the world's most dangerous hotspots.

One features we're particularly keen on is the expanded six-way online multiplayer mode. This will enable you to host your own server - we're presuming via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

As part of this mode, you'll be able to replay single player missions in a time-based Arcade mode that has a running score and will award you extra points for specific achievements.

There will be a new Survival Mode too, that provides you with a variety of weapons to hold off waves of oncoming enemy forces for as long as possible.

Released on 10th November - the same day as main console release Modern Warfare 2 - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilised will also have its own storyline and companion narrative.
