Burnout speeding towards mobile as screen and trailer are released
Car chaos and destruction guaranteed
EA has announced that a new Burnout game is currently being developed for mobile and will be available from all major operators this August.
The hugely popular franchise on consoles focuses as much on racing as car combat, with competitors constantly swapping paint and shunting each other onto oncoming traffic or into the scenery while making their way towards the finish line at very silly, boost-enabled speeds.
Which sounds very much like a typical journey into work to us.
Macho boasting aside, the mobile game promises to include these core elements, as well as unlockable cars and regions, and even new game modes exclusive to mobile.
"With Burnout in your pocket, you can tap into the adrenaline fuelled excitement of fast and reckless driving at the push of a button no matter where you are," said Javier Ferreira, EA Mobile's vice president of European publishing, while repetitively blipping an imaginary throttle with his foot. "The game is incredibly easy to get into and enjoy, whether you're a racer at heart or prefer to stick to the Highway Code."
But don't just take his word for it – you can check out Burnout Mobile in action by downloading the trailer (click 'Watch It!') while you wait for more news on this promising title to speed into view (in which case you'll want to click 'Track It!' to be alerted of any subsequent updates).
