Hit iPhone game Burn the Rope to get Game Center update this week

Canadian developer Big Blue Bubble has big plans this year for its gravity puzzler Burn the Rope.

It'll be releasing an update later this week containing new levels and Game Center integration for high scores.

The news follows an exceptional festive season for the title. Standing firm amidst competition from major Christmas releases and spontaneous seasonal sales, Burn the Rope emerged as the #1 puzzle game in 50 countries and #2 in the US paid chart.

Big Blue Bubble has hinted at another plan to extend the game's lifespan, with CEO Damir Slogar telling Pocket Gamer sister site PocketGamer.biz: "We do have very unique plan to keep the game fresh for a long time and we will make the big announcement in March."

There are also plans to take Burn the Rope multi-format, with Android, iPad, and Mac App Store versions expected by February. The game should make it onto Nintendo 3DS and next-generation virtual consoles by the end of this year.

If you want to see what all the fuss is about, Burn the Rope is available on the App Store now for 59p / 99c / €0,79.
