Batten down the hatches, the Brazilians are coming

The Brazilian cultural invasion is entering its second wave. Where once the South Americans were content to show off their samba, captivate us with their carnivals (and Copa Cabana cuties) and thoroughly thrash us at football, now they seem intent on imprinting a whole new side of their culture on us.

Art exhibitions and chart music (such as Tropicalia and the World Cup anthem Celebrate the Day) are assailing our eyes and ears, and it seems they've got plans for our thumbs, too.

Following hot on the rapidly moving heels of Kato Games (who are delivering Capoeira and Maradona to our mobiles) comes ExGames with Bunker Assault, a fast-paced action game in which you must fend off the relentless paratrooping hordes and, in the words of the tagline, 'save the world with your finger'.

Ten levels of incessant action, the possibility of 'bloody combos' and the backing of a frantic rock soundtrack would seem to suggest a viable caffeine-substitute for your morning commute (and possibly your fellow commuters, too, unless you turn the sound off).

Meanwhile an online high score system will enable the British gamer to prove once and for all who's best. (Our money is on the Brazilians.)

Bunker Assault will be available in Europe any day now, and you can be sure we'll bring you a review very soon. Well, just as soon as we've finished our caipirinha.
