Bubble Bobble Double Shot pops onto DS

Ignition Entertainment has announced it'll be bringing a new and exclusive Bubble Bobble game to DS.

Bubble Bobble Double Shot sees the return of Bub and Bob plus their cousin Bubu. In single-player you get to switch control between all three, navigating over 100 levels packed with enemies while on a quest to find some secret treasure. As always, enemies are dealt with by capturing them in bubbles, then popping them, whereas higher platforms are reached by blowing bubbles and jumping on them for a handy lift.

What is new is the range of different bubbles you can use. There's a Star Bubble which changes the colours of enemies so you don't have to switch characters to get them, an Elemental Bubble which creates havoc with water, fire or thunder, and an extra life-producing Extend Bubble.

Another new addition for the series are the touchscreen-based mini-games and puzzles, and three players will be able to play co-operatively, each taking control of one cutesy bubble-blowing dragon.

Visually, the game will retain a retro look and levels will be spread over the two DS screens.

Bubble Bobble Double Shot is due out in January 2008. Click 'Track It!' so you don't miss out further news.
