Smart vertical play feature revealed
We've already told you all there is to know about Brunswick Pro Bowling in terms of game content, but the first set of screenshots before the game's imminent August US release are of particular interest on two counts.
First, they clearly show an option to play the game using the PSP vertically (our own display format means you'll have to turn your head – more practical than putting your monitor on its side – to get the idea), so as to get a view that better suits the perspective of a bowling lane. This could emerge as a rather clever move on the part of the game's developer.
Second, we get a glimpse of the game's actual bowling mechanic, which appears to focus on getting the right balance of accuracy and strength by using the analogue nub.
But if the screens are still a little unclear then you could always check out the trailer below. It's actually footage of the PlayStation 2 version, which isn't something we would normally include, yet given that the visuals are very close to the PSP iteration – and the fact a PSP-only video is highly unlikely – we figured the opportunity to see the game in action outweighed our usual strict format-specific stance:
