We're preparing to hit the beaches this Friday, when Ubisoft deploys its WWII shooter Brothers in Arms DS. And if the video footage below is to be believed, it's looking like Brothers in Arms could give Metroid Prime: Hunters a run for its first-person shooting primacy.

For one thing, Brothers in Arms promises a similar touchscreen/stylus aiming system to Nintendo's DS FPS, and the video also shows a neat topdown view for when you want to target where you're going to throw grenades.

Graphically, it also looks rather splendid, with a solid framerate and surprisingly destructible environments, as well as big explosions and a sniper viewpoint. It's all so exciting, can we be expected to wait another two days? Brothers in Arms DS will get its European release on June 8th, while our American comrades will be late to the action (again!) on June 19th.
