Heavy Petting and Emotional Photography bring adult content to iPhone

Apparently Apple doesn't mind, so long as it's tiny

Heavy Petting and Emotional Photography bring adult content to iPhone

Are Apple's rules on nudity in iPhone applications weakening at the knees? It would seem that way, as a number of less than family friendly applications have arrived on the App Store.

One of the Apps in question, Boundless - Emotional Photography, is essentially a photo gallery containing 50 pictures of the female form - albeit artistic ones - by photographer John Covington.

Each picture is layered with a tightly cropped, higher quality copy of the photo which does stop you from actually seeing 'the goods'. However, zooming in apparently has no such filter.

Another app in question is Lady Lover: Heavy Petting, the first X-rated application on the App store. This app can't claim to be artistic in the slightest, as you essentially 'pay to play' with one of the female characters available, with your performance published anonymously on Twitter.

This begs the question: how exactly did these applications slip through the net? Apple has been very sensitive towards the issue of nudity, to the point at which it banned an App because it displayed someone with a hole in the crotch of their jeans.

Whatever the reason, these lady-extravaganzas are no doubt treading dangerously into virgin iPhone territory.

We don't disagree with the notion of such apps, but the guidelines are something the iPhone's maker will need to examine carefully to ensure the iPhone isn't tarred with a gigantic, dirty brush.
