iPhone Boulder Dash to feature retro graphics option

Chillingo’s underground revamp goes old skool

iPhone Boulder Dash to feature retro graphics option

Unstoppable iPhone publisher Chillingo has been tweeting up its forthcoming release of the retro classic Boulder Dash for the iPhone - being published in conjunction with the game’s original creator First Star Software.

This all new version of the classic dig-‘em-up promises large, scrolling caves, portrait or landscape orientation, pinch ’n’ pull zoom and configurable multi-touch controls. All 80 of the original caves will be included along with a handful of bonus ones for this all new iPhone adaptation.

But Chillingo’s latest mention of Boulder Dash now promises that - due to popular demand - there’ll also be an option to switch the flashy iPhone graphics into retro mode, allowing you to play Boulder Dash exactly as you remember it.

Being as we’re firmly stuck in the past, we can see the appeal of giving a nostalgic classic like Boulder Dash the retro-pixel treatment.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
