Finnish developer 10tons's new iPhone game Boom Brigade is a top-down shooter that has you drawing lines to get your squad of soldiers dealing with waves of incoming invaders.

It's the latest twist on the line-drawing genre, which has moved from Flight Control to Harbor Master, DrawRace and Heli Rescue.

Boom Brigade mixes it up with a more tower defence twist.

"We played around with some prototypes and got the idea to mix them together, ending up with a fast paced survival shooter," said 10tons's Timo Palonen.

You can read a full interview with him about the game - 10tons explains the arcs and zig-zags behind iPhone survivalist line drawing shooter Boom Brigade.

Boom Brigade is out now, priced $0.99, €0.79, 59p. The price will go up to $2.99 after 30th September, however.
