Bobby Carrot Classic burrowing its way onto iPhone

Bobby Carrot is one of our favourite mobile game characters, and he managed to impress our own Keith Andrew with his first iPhone outing, Bobby Carrot Forever.

Bobby Carrot Forever harks back to some of gaming's finest to offer up a smart little platform-puzzler,” Keith said in his Bronze Award review.

Well, TouchArcade has caught wind of more wascally wabbit fun winging its way toward the iPhone in the shape of Bobby Carrot Classic. In fact, this doesn’t immediately get us all that excited, since Bobby Carrot Forever was very much in the ‘classic’ carrot crunching game style

But rather than this being a revamped iPhone-specific version it’ll be a compilation of four direct ports from the mobile. Classic, Winterland, Evolution and Flower Power will be presented in their very own arcade machine bezels, with pixel perfect J2ME ports.

This actually looks like a pretty excellent idea, as one of the criticisms of Bobby Carrot Forever was its lack of originality. Not that the previous games are particularly retro yet, but the opportunity to have another bash at them on a much nicer screen is quite welcome.

Keep your ear to the ground for more Bobby Carrot Classic news as it tunnels its way in.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
