This time round in our board game retrospective, we're going to look at Zombie Dice. It's a super simple game, but one that's an incredible amount of fun.

In a twist to most of the games on the App Store, here you're playing as a zombie. You need to eat as many brains as you can, and avoid getting shot in the face by the pesky humans you're munching on.

Everything you do is determined by the roll of some dice. These can show brains, shotgun blasts, or feet. The feet represent your prey escaping, and they take the dice out of play.

This is a game of pushing your luck though. You can bank your brains whenever you want, but the temptation to push on and get more is, unsurprisingly, sometimes overwhelming.

Get three shotgun blasts though and your turn comes to an end. No brains for you, just a face full of lead and self pity.

You can grab the game for free, but that doesn't give you the full Zombie Dice experience. If you want that you'll need to pay 99p / 99c for an IAP.

It's well worth it though, since you'll get multiplayer options, a smarter AI to play against, and more sounds and animations for the in-game zombies.

Board games don't all have to be deep and serious, and Zombie Dice proves that with aplomb. It's a quick-fire chunk of flesh nomming nonsense, and it's well worth checking out.
