Each week, we get early access to an exciting upcoming game and give it to a select few hardened mobile gaming experts that make up the App Army. We then feed these thoughts back to you, our audience, so you know whether it's worth your time or not. Gamer to gamer.

Today we're looking at Colt Express, a digital board game where users seek to plan an elaborate train-robbery, all whilst trying to foil the plans of up to five other players.

Grab the game on the App Store, Google Play, Steam and if you're feeling old school, grab a hard copy of the original board game.

Matt King

It's a great looking game with a simple tutorial and easy to understand rules. Unfortunately, the real fun comes from laughing at the misfortune of other players when their carefully crafted plan crumbles from beneath them.

There's little single-player value because laughing at the computer's mistakes is only fun for so long.

I see this being a great tabletop game but it didn't survive the conversion from hard copy to digital.

Olivier Boesch

I actually own a copy of this board game, so to see it on iOS is pretty cool. The game has the exact same rules as the original and is easy to play - if you read the rule book.

However, the sound track is plagued with the noise of the train, which over time becomes very annoying but it does create a certain atmosphere.

The addition of story mode and online multiplayer is great, also the ability to unlock variants to diversify missions offers some kind replay value.

I understand those who find it boring, but that could just be down to them not being able to play the game with the family.

Ethan Harold

I quite like this, it has very charming features. Although this isn't my kind of game, I would still recommend it to others because it is challenging, runs smooth and is interesting to play.

The strategy aspect is well done and would take a while to master.

Kainen Ryan

I did not enjoy this - it's a little boring and goes on way too long. It's set on a constantly moving train, however the background seems to always be the same.

I think parts of the game required a lot of luck, drawing cards to plan the heist doesn't require much skill.

The game looks alright, with a fairly basic graphic style that has little going on and the sound track seems to follow suit.

I do like board games but this just felt boring. There was hardly any interaction in the game, apart from picking a card from time to time. I am sure fans of this game will disagree with my opinion but it just feels like a big letdown.

Tom Clark

I pretty much agree with everything Kainen said. The game is fundamentally boring and just takes way too long, I did like the graphics and the sound was tolerable.

As far as board game conversions to mobile games, this is not in my top 10 by a long shot. I can think of many better ways to waste my time then this.

Oksana Ryan

I did not enjoy this game at all. Winning in this game is down to luck rather than skill and it quickly became boring. The graphics weren't bad, but the sound became repetitive so I had to mute it.

I understand that its main playing value would be online and local multiplayer as a board game is intended to be played with others, however the single player doesn't offer enough to keep me entertained for long.
