The best mobile board games of January 2018

Month one, top one
Product: Antihero - Digital Board Game | Publisher: Versus Evil | Format: Android, iPhone, iPad, Board Game
January has been a really good month for mobile board games. We've had not one but four really rather excellent additions to the board gaming library.

So we thought it was only fair that today, on the last day of the month, we reminded you of all the gems that have hit so far in 2018.

There's links to our reviews, and download links below too. And if you think we've missed anything, feel free to let us know in the comments at the bottom of the article. Here's hoping February 2018 can carry on this excellent trend.

The first must-buy board game of the year came out on the very first day of the year. Antihero is all about building up a criminal empire in the gaslit streets of a cartoony Victorian London. There's plenty to get your teeth into here, from single player to multiplayer.

And everything is presented in one of the nicest art styles I've seen for a while. This one's fun, it's deep, and if you haven't already bought it then you definitely should.

The Dresden Files Cooperative Card Game – download for iOS / Android

A multiplayer card game with a difference. Rather than scrapping it out with your friends, here you're playing with them. And you're fighting through what-if versions of familiar scenarious from the books.

There's a decent single player game here, but things really come to life when you bring some friends along for the ride. A perfect addition to any board game night roster.

Pathfinder Duels - download for iOS / Android

Set in the same universe as the famously hardcore tabletop RPG, this one combines ideas from card battlers and Hearthstone to create something really rather special.

It's a deck-builder with an intriguing battle mechanic and a whole huge of content to work your way through. It might not be as famous as Blizzard's behemoth, but it probably deserves to be.

Meteorfall - download for iOS / Android

One of the best developments in the digital board and card game sphere over the last few years has been a proliferation of excellent solitaire dungeon crawlers. And Meteorfall fits squarely into that category.

Part Tinder, part a roguelike, there's so much to love here it's hard to fit into a few paragraphs. It's warm, funny, and you need to think carefully about your tactics if you want to clear everything. And you're going to want to clear everything.
