Released back in April 2009, the original iPhone port of the Bloons Flash game was a massive success, doing millions of downloads, as well as gaining a Pocket Gamer Silver award.

So now, publisher Ninja Kiwi and developer Digital Goldfish are back with the all-new Bloons 2.

Of course, it's based on the same gameplay: you have to fire darts around each level to pop the Bloons.

Monkey business

This time, however, monkey has some neat new additions to his dart armory. There's the anti-grav dart and the Monkey Ace - a type of smartbomb you have to guide into attack. You'll also have to perfect your timing to pop Camo Bloons before they disappear?

Spread across 96 levels and eight themed worlds, you certainly get plenty of game for your 99c, €0.79 or 69p, which is the price for the universal app.

Bloons 2 is released on Thursday 15 December. You can check out the action in the following video.
