Square Enix cancels western release of Blood of Bahamut
Even the Japanese didn't want it
Were you looking forward to playing Blood of Bahamut on your DS? That's massive monster slaying adventure from RPG experts Square Enix? Well, you'd better sit down for this news.
Square Enix has abandoned the trademark here in the west, signifying that the game won't be picked up for US or UK publishing any time soon. It's probably thanks to the game's rather lacklustre sales in RPG motherland, Japan.
While the company's other role-player Dragon Quest IX was picking up over 100,000 sales a week, Blood of Bahamut barely scraped 30k. With such a poor showing in the game's homeland, it probably wasn't worth the effort of getting it to western audiences.
