Hudson brings Midway's Blitz to mobile
Mobile gridiron set to hut, hut, hut this autumn
When it comes to console American football action, you've got Madden for authenticity, and then you've got Midway's Blitz for, well, violent fun. Albeit of the less realistic kind.
Hudson Entertainment has just announced a deal to take Blitz to mobile phones, in the form of Blitz: The League. Due out this autumn in the States, it'll be available in both BREW and Java incarnations.
The game revolves around seven-on-seven action, with 12 teams to control, each with their own unique plays. The differentiating factor is Blitz's Story mode, which sees you picking a rubbish team up by the scruff of its neckpads and taking it to the top, upgrading equipment and players along the way.
Oh, and the game also features famous linebacker Lawrence Taylor (yes, famous enough that us Brits have heard of him). Will the game come out on this side of the Atlantic? Don't hold your breath, but it's shaping up to be a treat for US-based gridiron fans.
