Research in Motion (RIM) is currently gearing up for one of the most important launch events in the company's history.

After a prolonged wait, the BlackBerry manufacturer is about to unveil its new OS, BlackBerry 10. We're also expecting to see two brand-new BB10 handsets (the Z10 and the X10) at RIM's BB10 press event tomorrow.

Of course, one of the key elements in determining a new platform's chances of success is the amount of support it receives from third-party app and game developers. You know, to foster a thriving digital marketplace an' all.

Well-established Finnish smartphone game dev 10tons certainly knows this, and is throwing its weight - and its games portfolio - behind BlackBerry 10.

Game on

When BlackBerry 10 goes live on January 30th, early adopters will find ten of the Finnish developer's games optimised and ready for downloading onto their shiny new handsets.

The full list of 10tons's BlackBerry 10-compatible games is as follows:

Currently, these games are only listed as supporting the BlackBerry PlayBook, but we expect those listings to be amended tomorrow.

At this point, we assume there will be no change in price for the BB10 versions, though RIM is about to tinker with its app pricing tiers for Europe. We'll have to wait until RIM's big BB10 press conference tomorrow to know for sure, mind.

To ensure that the first wave of BlackBerry 10 users will have a decent selection of games to play, RIM recently launched an incentivised "port-a-thon", which attracted over 15,000 app submissions for the new OS in 37.5 hours.
