The future’s bright

BlackBerry Torch 9800 coming to Orange UK

We've already received confirmation that Vodafone will be supplying UK BlackBerry fans with the latest and greatest handset from Research in Motion, and Orange has now lit up the newswires with confirmation that it will also be supplying the phone.

The BlackBerry Torch 9800 is the first ever sliding handset from the Canadian company and is the first model to receive the hotly anticipated BlackBerry 6 OS.

With improvements pretty much across the board – from media playing capabilities to browser enhancements and social networking integration – OS 6 is widely regarded as a direct attempt by RIM to encourage iPhone and Android users to jump mobile ships.

As with Vodafone, no exact details on either pricing or date are available as yet. In fact, there isn’t even a pre-order site set up at the time of this story going live, with a spokesman for the company only revealing that the handset will be ‘coming soon’.

The BlackBerry Torch 9800 will be released on the AT&T network in America on August 12th.
