BlackBerry PlayBook available in UK stores on June 16th, prices start at £400
7-inch tablet comes in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB flavours
BlackBerry’s much anticipated 'professional-grade' tablet the PlayBook is finally set to hit the UK, arriving in stores on June 16th.
The device will be stocked by the likes of Phones 4u, Carphone Warehouse, and Best Buy UK, and comes with three storage options.
The basic 16GB model will set you back £400: double the capacity and you’re looking at £480. Should you want the maximum 64GB version, you’ll pay a further £80.
RIM’s 7-inch tablet is powered by a 1GHz processor and features 1GB of RAM. It’s Bluetooth compatible, has a USB port, and two cameras – the 3-megapixel front-facing one is ideal for video calls, while the resolution is upped to 5 megapixels for rear-facing snaps.
The press blurb promises “true multitasking”, “a robust development environment”, and “HD multimedia”, too.
But perhaps more importantly, the PlayBook supports Adobe’s Flash Player, which means it one-ups the iPad in the web browsing department.
