'Best of tests' is something of a contradiction in terms. A bit like saying the best of S Club 7 or the best of times you've been so ill you haven't made it to the toilet in time. However, this little fact hasn't stopped publisher Conspiracy Entertainment from announcing Best of Tests, which it's bringing to DS. Heaven help it.

Actually, to be fair it doesn't sound like a bad idea for a game and, hopefully, it'll offer something a bit different to the reams of brain training titles already out there. Best of Tests is more an IQ calculator and uses a range of logic, observation, memory, analysis and speed of perception tests – all qualities tested in the famous Intelligence Quotient Test, we're informed – to work out if you're a boffin or practically brain dead.

Several hundred questions are included, and the game adapts itself to offer a personalised challenge based on your IQ level. Both the challenges and your results will apparently be humorously presented, and the game is described as an excellent way to improve your intelligence while having fun.

More fun than going down the pub? We have our doubts. But we're prepared to be proved wrong once the game is released on March 4th.
