Following its announcement of GTA: Chinatown for iPhone and iPod touch, Rockstar has doubled its PSP-to-iPhone pipeline with the announcement that the Timbaland-sourced music sequencer Beaterator will also be available on the App Store this autumn.

Originally released as a web browser tool, Beaterator is currently being prepped for a PSP release - read our recent Hands On here.

The iPhone and iPod touch release will occur in a similar timeframe.

"The simple, pick-up-and-play nature of Beaterator lends itself so well to the Apple platforms," said Sam Houser, Rockstar Games co-founder. "We are happy to deliver an application that allows for such unprecedented sharing and ease-of-use."

Beaterator is a portable music-making application that supposedly will allow you, despite your musical background and ability, to create world-class beats and songs.

Helping you along the way, it will feature thousands of loops and sounds made by Timbaland and the development team at Rockstar Leeds.
