With Samsung rolling out more of the Wave smartphones, which run its bada OS, it's also giving away more free games and apps.

FIFA 10, Tetris Refresh and Spore Creatures - from EA Mobile - will be free for the first 250,000 downloads.

Gameloft's Assassin's Creed will be free for the first 300,000 downloads.

EA's Need for Speed: Shift and Gameloft's Asphalt 5 were previously available under similar schemes.

Apps such as the DioDict French/English dictionary, Princess Magic Therapy e-book, and SSkin theme series are said to be free for a limited time only.

The promotion is timed with the release of the Wave525 (S5250), Wave533 (S5330), Wave575 (S5750) and Wave723 (S7230).

Strangely however, owners of the original Wave (S8500) aren't able to get their hands on the games, as the promotion is locked to the new devices only.

Samsung Apps for bada devices is available in United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, France and Singapore, with more countries to follow as the new phones are rolled out.

"Our new Wave handsets will give us the opportunity to reach more users than ever before and provide a better smartphone experience that suits their lifestyle," said Kanghyun Kwon, vice president of the Media Solution Center at Samsung Electronics.
"With complimentary programs, we expect Samsung smartphone users to find their new Wave devices more practical and entertaining."
