Every two weeks, I like to look back at the three big topics of conversation that got everyone talking over the past 14 days. And mention them here.
This round-up represents the perfect opportunity for you to catch up on the latest happenings from around the world of Pocket Gamer.
So, yeah, competitions you might have missed, big features we've launched. That sort of thing.
In this particular round-up, you discuss the fact that Deus Ex: The Fall is heading to Android, remark on Nathan Drake's branding shame, and question whether Clash of Clans is really a strategy game.
Let's crack on.
The Big Three
1. Deus Ex: The Fall is sneaking onto Google Play:
After a successful launch on iOS, Eidos-Montréal's stealthy stealthy, shooty shooty first-person shooter is heading to Android.
Harry Styles (not THAT Harry Styles, surely?!) noted that there was "one month to go until I get to soothe my hunger for a good action game title."
Mothreja Jay was equally excited: "Deus Ex is amazing. Human Revolution revived the series, and The Fall has pushed it to mobile devices."
Fasty was also excited about the news, and stated that he hopes "it has controller support".
2. Uncharted surfaces on iPad as a mini-game in PlayStation All-Stars Island:
Nathan Drake and chums have gone to bed with The Coca-Cola Company. The offspring of this unholy union is this pretty naff advergame on iOS.
Seems like no one in our community is too impressed by this collaboration...
Tiel was disgusted: "Yuk. Prime example of seeing a franchise as a brand to milk." Quite.
Our own Mark Brown exclaimed that "this is the worst thing I've ever played." Yowzer.
It was PG regular mr_bez that provided perhaps the funniest comment of the fortnight, though: "If I wanted to play an Uncharted game where I spend most of my time following narrow, pre-determined paths, occasionally tapping to avoid obstacles, I'd play Uncharted 3." Zing.
3. We compiled a list of the ten best strategy games on iOS. You questioned whether Clash of Clans belongs on the list:
This article went down a storm, in truth. But the one question mark hanging over the piece was whether Clash of Clans belonged on this list. Is this freemium title REALLY a strategy game?
Echtze1t said that it "stands out as the single worst 'game' (I wouldn't even call it that) of this selection".
oooooomonkey pondered the following, meanwhile: "how you can put some freemium crap in with all these brilliant games is beyond me."
Perhaps it was community member Ginko that sums up my own personal feelings best on this matter: "Clash of Clans is the only game that's stayed on my iPad without being deleted in the last 10 months or so... Should be no1 in your list IMHO."
Get stuck in!
