You want a Burger King mobile game?
You got it! Want fries with that?
Now, I don't know about you, but when I get a press release promising someone's going to "blend the Burger King brand into an evolving gaming experience", I start dribbling more than I do when faced with a steaming great Veggie Whopper burger.
Or not.
In fact, there's nothing like the notion of an advergame to strike cold, dead fear into my heart, having sat through several excruciating minutes playing a Campbell's Soup snowboarding game a few years ago.
Still, it's best not to assume. Mobliss is the company bringing Burger King to mobile, and it's a well established mobile games publisher. So its new title, BK City, may well be fun.
It's just come out in the US, and not only is it 'multi-level', but it's apparently based on genres including "puzzle, arcade, trading, action and more". Brain training? Virtual dog games? Erotic games? Who can say?
There are some interesting aspects though: players can pay $2.99 a month for a subscription to the game, which includes "automatic game changes and upgrades", indicating that this is more than just a one-off branding splurge.
Could it come to the UK? We'll be sure to let you know if it does.
