Asus offers full refunds and extended warranties to disgruntled Transformer Prime owners in the UK

Asus has responded to customer concerns regarding its recently released Transformer Prime by offering full refunds and extended warranties to UK-based owners of the Android tablet.

In a post on the company's official blog, Asus attempts to allay concerns first off about the quad-core Transformer Prime's wi-fi range by confirming that "after extensive checks... no units have been supplied to the UK with a known wi-fi issue."

Furthermore, those punters who have experienced issues with the 10.1-inch tablet's GPS module aren't left high and dry.

"Any customers who have purchased a Transformer Prime TF201 and are dissatisfied with the performance of the GPS module are advised to return the unit to their point of purchase for a full refund as per standard consumer rights that apply in the UK," Asus's statement reads.

Dissatisfaction among buyers of the Transformer Prime no doubt intensified when Asus announced a higher-resolution model of its tablet at last week's CES, meaning the existing version is already looking like yesterday’s news.

One small crumb of 'comfort' for recent purchasers of the Transformer Prime is provided towards the end of Asus's blog, mind, when the manufacturer reveals that the new edition of the tablet "is unlikely to be available in the UK before June at the earliest".
