Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS available over-the-air for the Asus Transformer Prime from January 12th
Asus to release bootloader unlocking tool
Taiwan-based manufacturer Asus has announced that it's bringing Google's Ice Cream Sandwich OS to its Transformer Prime tablet on January 12th.
It's about time. Android 4.0 was scheduled to hit the quad-core tablet last month, after all.
According to Asus, the OS update - which will be available over-the-air - will "improve the focus of the camera, the fluidity of the touch experience, and the APK capabilities in Android Market."

"The reason we chose to lock it is due to content providers' requirement for DRM client devices to be as secure as possible. Asus supports Google DRM in order to provide users with a high quality video rental experience," the company said.
"Also, based on our experience, users who choose to root their devices risk breaking the system completely. However, we know there is demand in the modding community to have an unlocked bootloader."
