Asterope rockets into App Store

Stop the android invasion – a subtle dig at Google?

Asterope rockets into App Store

Finnish indie developer Niklas Wahrman recently placed in the top 25 per cent of Google's Android Challenge competition, but has gone on to further develop his physics-controlled, space-based game, Asterope, for the iPhone platform.

The game, which is available now, involves some unique control mechanics to pilot your little space buddy around the game in an attempt to stop an invasion of androids. Now, we might be reading between imaginary lines here, but a game about destroying 'androids' on the iPhone is just a little bit too delicious. Maybe Apple has a new mascot?

Anyway, all conspiratorial notions aside, this looks like a pretty entertaining, story-driven space adventure, so check out the gameplay vid below, then hit 'Track It!' now for more news on the android invasion of Earth as it happens.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
