Asterix and the Mobile Phone

The famous moustachioed Gaul – no, not Gerard Depardieu – is making his debut on your mobile phone courtesy of In-Fusio. That’s right; Asterix, star of 33 comic books, 3 movies and his own theme park in France, will be knocking out Romans while you rome. Launched to coincide with the release of his most recent comic book, Asterix – Rescue Obelix finds the last un-conquered village in Gaul in peril again from Caesar and his Roman legionaries. What’s worse, Obelix, who fell into a cauldron of strength-giving magic potion as a baby, has disobeyed the druid Getafix and drunk a whole new cauldron of the potion, turning him into a statue. Incapacitated, Obelix has been kidnapped by the sneaky Romans and it’s up to Asterix to infiltrate their camp and rescue his best friend!

The action takes place over 12 levels set in 3 different environments, taking in the forest, the dolmens (ancient stone monuments a bit like Stone Henge) and climaxing in the nearby Roman fort. You play as the plucky Gaul and can run, jump and punch your way out of trouble as you proceed through the sideways-scrolling levels, aided by your trusty magic potions. You’ll be able to get your hands on the game from October 14th.
