As you probably already know, Apple is currently fighting court battles against a number of Android licensees, such as HTC, Samsung, and Motorola.

Although the Cupertino-based technology firm is winning some battles, it's not all rosy for Tim Cook and the rest of the gang up in California.

A court in Germany has issued a permanent injunction against the iPhone 4, the iPhone 3GS, the iPhone 3G, and 3G-enabled iPad models, which means Apple can no longer sell the devices on its German website.

The iPhone 4S, however, is unaffected, at least for the time being.

According to website Foss Patents, all iPhone and iPad models are still available to purchase from local retailers, including Apple's own stores.

Why? Just why?

This ban is believed to be the result of a patent complaint filed against Apple by Motorola Mobility back in December 2011, which claimed that all of Apple's 3G-enabled devices violate a patent related to UMTS technology.

Motorola filed another complaint against Apple and the iPhone 4S earlier this month.
