Steve Jobs tribute doll scrapped following legal pressures from Jobs's family
Last thing
Following legal pressure from Apple and Steve Jobs's family earlier this month, In Icons has announced it has halted the sale and production of the Steve Jobs tribute figurine.
The manufacturer has confirmed it will be refunding customers who had already placed pre-orders down on the $100 doll, and stated that the toy's creation was driven by admiration for the recently passed Apple creative.
"I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate that the original intention for creating the figurine was driven by a fan's admiration of Steve," reads a statement from In Icons.
"Unfortunately, we have received immense pressure from the lawyers of Apple and Steve Jobs family. Regardless of the pressure, I am still Steve's fan, I fully respect Steve, and his family, and it is definitely not my wish or intention that they be upset."
The tribute figure measured in at 12 inches and comes complete with Jobs's trademark black turtleneck, blue jeans, New Balance trainers, as well as two pairs of glasses, a pair of apples, and a "One More Thing" keynote backdrop.
