How to pair your Apple Watch with your iPhone
|

The Apple Watch cannot work without an iPhone. It's a companion device to your phone. Ying to its yang. Tango to its Cash. So with that in mind, the very first thing you'll do when you get your Apple Watch is pair it with your phone.

Here's how

01

First things first, make sure your iPhone is updated to iOS software version 8.2 or later. To do this, go to Settings> General> Software Update. You'll know you've got it if you have the Apple Watch app on your phone.

Open it up.

02

Put the Apple Watch on your wrist. Check out the instructions in the box to figure out how to secure your strap. When it's on comfortably, press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

03

On the Watch you'll need to choose a few settings like language. Then, you'll be told to hit the Pair with Watch button on the iPhone app.

Do so, and a viewfinder will appear on your iPhone. Line up the box with your Apple Watch (which will be showing a crazy barcode) and after a split second they will pair.

04

You just have to answer a few questions on your iPhone to finish setting things up.

Wait for your settings to sync with your Watch and now your devices are paired. If you want to change to a different iPhone you can unpair the Watch by finding 'Apple Watch' on your iPhone's Apple Watch app, and hitting 'Unpair Apple Watch'.
