Which iPhone will the Apple Watch work with?
|

The Apple Watch will only connect to an iPhone 5 or newer. So if you're still rocking an iPhone 4S or earlier, you're out of luck.

You'll need an iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, or iPhone 6 Plus to connect to the watch.

You'll also need to be on at least iOS 8.2 to get it to work. You'll know you're on the right firmware if you have the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.

If you don't, simply open the Settings apps, choose 'General', and pick 'Software Update'. Now hit 'Download and Install' to get your phone up to date with the latest OS.

The device will connect to your phone using either its Wi-Fi 802.11b/g or Bluetooth 4.0 chips, so you won't have to have Bluetooth running constantly on your phone, eating up precious battery life, if you don't fancy it.

The iPhone is the only Apple device that the Apple Watch will talk to. You can't connect it to an iPad, an iPod touch, a Pippin, a Lisa, or an iMac in Bondi Blue.
