Apple today announced that an app will soon be released that allows you to use your iPhone as a remote for your Apple TV.

This is a feature that really should have been available at the launch of Apple TV 2, but it will seriously please those of you in the habit of losing your remote nonetheless.

That's not the only good news for Apple TV fanatics though. Gamers in particular will be pleased to discover that support for four gamepads is also inbound.

So it's the perfect time to host that multiplayer tournament you always dreamed of.

More than that though, some games will now be able to require the use of controllers, bringing a much needed change to Apple's policy that should affect the way games are developed on tvOS.

New games are also inbound like Minecraft: Story Mode and Sketch Party.

Yes. You go ahead and dust off that Apple TV. It might actually have some use in the coming months.
