Grindstone's new Daily Grind update introduces daily challenges, fifty levels and more

Grindstone has proven itself to be one of the more popular Apple Arcade games since the service launched last year. Not only is it a stellar take on the matching colours puzzle formula but it's also been regularly updated with new content too. The latest is called the Daily Grind update and introduces new levels, daily challenges and gold gear.

There will 50 new levels in total, bringing the total available in the game to 230. These stages come in the form of Creep and Jerk filled caverns you'll find scattered across the mountain. To unlock these caves, however, you'll need to use Grindstones, so make you're collecting as many as possible.

The update also sees the addition of the Daily Grind mode, complete with player leaderboards to see how you fare against fellow Grindstoners. This will see players tackling four tough levels on a single life each day. Every time you clear a level you'll be able to choose a piece of random gear from a selection of three. For more details on this mode, check out the embedded video above.

Elsewhere, there are two new pieces of gear that will help players to gather Gold. These are the Pickaxe and Goldrush Garb. They will help collect golden nuggets that are now available to find throughout Grindstone Mountain.

Finally, there are also five new Gold Item Blueprints to be found. These can be obtained by beating the various mini-bosses that stand in Jorj's way at the end of each new cave. So if you want some shiny new items, you'll have to cut these foes down to size.

Grindstone is available now over on Apple Arcade, a subscription service that costs $4.99 per month. For more information on other games that are available in its extensive library, check out our dedicated hub page.
