Pangea has been a big supporter of the iPhone, and its games have suitably impressed us enough to be able to spell the company's name without double checking. But up until now, all Pangea's games have been conversions from the company's previous system of choice, the Mac.

Antimatter is here to change all that. This is the developer's first title to be created specifically for the iPhone, and it's undeniably better looking for having been aimed at the Apple handset from day one.

Essentially, this is a quantum physics puzzle game, which is tricky to describe, but probably pretty self-explanatory in play. Cosmic strings drift about the screen, and it's up to you to flick an antimatter particle about the place altering their properties. Hitting a cosmic string turns it from red to blue, and the level is won by changing the colour of all the strings. Hitting a string twice turns it back to red, however, so there's as much dexterity needed as puzzle solving.

One way or another, Antimatter lights up you iPhone like a sub-atomic Christmas tree, and taking Pangea's track record into account, there's plenty of reason to be excited about this latest game. By all accounts, Pangea is filtering away from Mac games to concentrate on Apple's newest gaming platform, and we can't say we blame it.

Bash the 'Buy It!' button to head over to the App Store and take a look at Antimatter (which is on a 'special introductory price' of £0.59), and don't forget to 'Track It!' for more news as we get it.

Spanner Spencer
Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
