Reverse tower defence game Anomaly Warzone Earth descends onto the New Zealand App Store, consuming rest of Earth later

Chillingo and 11 bit studios's much-anticipated RTS game Anomaly Warzone Earth for iPhone and iPad has finally landed in New Zealand, and will be invading the rest of the world from midnight.

During our hands-on with Anomaly Warzone Earth way back in November, we couldn't help feeling rather impressed with it all. The clever tower defence-in-reverse scenario sees you leading an elite team through the defences of a crashed alien ship.

It's not just you against the world, mind - you'll deploy some powerful vehicles and special abilities, but, ultimately, it'll be tactical intuition that gets you through the tricky bits.

Although if you're anything like me, you'll probably find yourself a bit distracted by the impressive graphics.

Anomaly Warzone Earth comes in two versions: one for iPhone, priced at £1.49 / $1.99, and one for iPad, priced at £2.49 / $3.99.

Both are out now in New Zealand, with worldwide availability to follow shortly.
