Following last week’s release of Angry Birds Rio on the Amazon Appstore service, Rovio has also released an ad-free, paid-for version of the original game (plus Seasons) in a effort to tempt US customers to the new distribution channel.

The two titles are effectively exclusives as the Android Market only comes with the ad-supported versions, which have those annoying Google ads popping up during play.

The paid-for versions are priced the same as on iOS (99c each), and don’t come with any extra bells and whistles over their free brothers, except of course for the lack of adverts.

We’ve contacted Rovio to find out if these will be heading to the Android Market (and, by extension, every Android user outside of the US) in the future, so stay tuned for any further updates.

If you’re in the US, you can download Angry Birds for 99c by using this link.
