We reported yesterday that Rovio was planning on making a beta version of Angry Birds on Android available to some who signed up to the official website.

Such has been the level of demand that the company has now decided to open it out to all Android owners from tomorrow. Angry Birds Lite Beta, to give the release its full (and slightly unwieldy) name will be made available for free on Android Market on Friday.

Rovio is keen to point out that, as with all betas, there will be a number of bugs that need ironing out – particularly when it comes to handset compatibility. It said that “we cannot guarantee its functionality on every Android device.”

The whole point of the exercise is, of course, to uncover such problems prior to the full version going live, so Rovio encourages any who encounter issues to “simply click the report a bug button in the main menu of the game to provide us with direct feedback.”

The developer has tested the game on a number of handsets, though, and claims that “Angry Birds Lite Beta will run on second generation Android devices and upwards.”

It’s certainly an ambitious and commendable way to ensure that Angry Birds doesn’t suffer the conversion hiccups experienced by a number of other high profile Android games.
