Angry Birds coming to PSP Minis - new world, new bird

May today be henceforth called The Day of the Angry Birds. Rovio's casual hit has already made headlines thanks to its imminent appearance on Palm Pre, the possibility of a film version, and the charming existence of a home-made version using boxes and various kinds of ball.

The fourth prong of the game's all-out news assault is this: Angry Birds will be available on PSP Minis this autumn.

Angry Birds, in case you don't know, is a casual physics-based game in which you hurl birds at structures in which pigs are sheltering. The quirky art style and honed gameplay have earned it legions of fans and millions of downloads.

The PSP version will feature 120 levels across four worlds. One of these is a brand new world called The Big Set Up, featuring, in the words of the press release, “addictively fun surprises unseen before”.

There's also going to be a bonus Golden Egg world, and a whole new bird, called Big Bird, which will be capable of “massive destruction.”
