Takt op. Symphony, the new music-based gacha RPG, reveals release date for Japan

The highly anticipated mobile RPG Takt Op. Symphony has finally revealed a release date for its Japanese launch, and it’s not too far off from now. On June 28th, Japanese gamers will be able to experience this incredibly beautiful music-themed gacha role-playing game, which features engaging combat, awesome character designs, and some beautiful music as well.

Takt Op. Symphony is a newcomer to the scene, and is a sequel of sorts to the anime series that premiered not too long ago. While the Takt Op. name is a multimedia project, it’s likely not one you’ve heard much about, as beyond the anime series, this new mobile game is the first addition to the project altogether.

Symphony itself is set 20 years after the ending of its anime prequel, and continues the story from there. Both the anime and the game are set within a world where music cannot be played or listened to due to it suddenly attracting the attention of a primordial threat known as the D2s. You play the role of a member within an organisation designed to stop the threat of these creatures.

This organisation weaponises music and instruments to do so, wielding everything from pianos to violins to play classical scores that will break these joyless creatures apart. This translates to gameplay in the form of a 3D turn-based affair, seeing you build up a party and utilise their unique kits to do battle.

Each character is loosely based upon a real-world musical influence such as Mozart or Beethoven, and you’ll be looking to collect them all through various gacha banners so you can truly optimise your teams and tackle all the content the game has.

If that sounds interesting to you, and you’re located in Japan, you can currently pre-register for the game on the official website!
