Finnish developer Rovio Entertainment has paired up with GSN Games to offer a new way to play the world’s favorite bird-lobbing app. Red, Chuck, Matilda and Bomb et al are back, as are the pea-green Piggies, but this time round, there’s money to be won.

Using GSN Games’ WorldWinner platform, which takes popular titles and injects a bit of cash competition into proceedings, you can play Angry Birds Champions to win real money. This isn’t a casino app, though – you aren’t betting against the house. You’re testing your skill against other players online. Whether you succeed comes down to how good you are at knocking things down with your trusty slingshot. In fact, it’s the franchise’s first and only official tournament game offering prize money.

Angry Birds Champions includes two tournament modes. Best of 3 allows you to try the same level three times, with only your highest score counting towards the result. Progression challenges you with three different levels, each contributing to your total score. Best of 3 gives you room for trial-and-error, whereas in Progression, every attempt counts. The game features a player-matching system based on skill, so don’t worry – you won’t be dropped in at the deep end.

Players based in the U.S. and Canada can start chucking birds for cash by downloading the WorldWinner iOS app, which features Angry Birds Champions, along with tournament twists on a host of other popular mobile games.
