Google today announced the next version of Android at the Google I/O conference - Ice Cream Sandwich.

Ice Cream Sandwich is intended to be "one OS that runs everywhere" - across mobiles, tablets, and notebooks, breaking up the current divide between the different forms (Gingerbread/Honeycomb).

The company kept most of the nitty-gritty details of the new version under wraps, but did reveal two new features at the event

Head-tracking can pick out not just the user’s position, but also his features (like eyes and mouth) and a Virtual Camera Director can track who’s talking in a group (and subsequently zoom to him.)

The new version of Android is expected to arrive this winter, so we'll no doubt hear more details about what's inside over the next few months.

In the meantime, enjoy the new Android logo.
