Google’s Andy Rubin: Android gaming to receive serious attention in future
|

Google’s Android chief Andy Rubin has been talking to PC Mag about his beloved mobile OS, and undoubtedly the most interesting insight relates to future iterations of the platform.

Put simply, Android’s gaming capabilities are going to be one of the main considerations for the company in future updates.

Asked about the kind of features that would appear in the next iteration of Android, Rubin admitted something we’ve all felt up to this point: “I think gaming is an area that I think is underserved right now,” he said.

He spoke of a “reinvention of casual gaming” brought on by smartphones, claiming such gaming was more about “what do you do in between the times when you're doing something” than the typical console experience.

However, he then went on to state his intention to “support all forms of gaming across the entire spectrum.”

Android owners are starting to get some quality games - hopefully this indicates that we'll get a service to match at some point.
